Runner's Knee

Introduction

Runner’s knee refers to symptoms that include anterior knee pain from an overuse activity such as long distance running. It is often also referred to as patellofemoral pain syndrome. The most common cause is due to overuse or repetition, and is often more noticeable when running or jumping. Patients may also experience this pain when walking up and down stairs, sitting for extended periods of time, or when squatting.
