I’m committed to play lacrosse at Johns Hopkins University when I graduate high school. This past spring I turned my ankle the second week of practice. On a recommendation, my Dad took me to St. Charles where Kaan, the lead sports physical therapist, saw me within an hour of my injury.
He referred me to Dr. Wagner, a pediatric orthopedic surgeon.
The x-rays and MRI confirmed that I had a complete fracture and an older injury in the same ankle. Dr. Wagner recommended immediate surgery to repair both the old and new injury. Dr. Wagner performed the surgery at St. Charles Hospital. Everyone at St. Charles was great. I started physical therapy right away in the hope that I could get back with my team for playoffs. I worked hard and six weeks after my surgery I was cleared for practice, much to the amazement of my coach and team!
I made the winning shot in the New York State semi-finals and my team and I went on to win the state championship. I know that if it was not for Dr Wagner’s skill and expertise and the dedicated people at St Charles, I would not have been on the field to share in the joy of our championship.
Thank you Dr. Wagner!
